DJ Envy has been the talk of the internet for the last couple of weeks due to his involvement in an alleged Ponzi scheme involving himself and his real estate business partner, Cesar Pina.
It’s gotten to the point where Pina has been arrested and charged with one count of wire fraud and the feds raided Envy’s place of employment, iHeart Radio. Even though Envy is denying any involvement in the scheme and Pina has pleaded not guilty, the internet has not let up on taking shots at the duo. So what does this have to do with Killer Mike?
Recently, a clip started circulating on social media, showing the Atlanta rapper standing next to a housing complex with the man in the middle of it all, Cesar.
These are just one of many clips showing Cesar, and in some cases, Envy, showing off potential properties they plan on buying and selling.
In the above clip, you hear Killer Mike say, “I haven’t hijacked or kidnapped DJ Envy — don’t worry, he’ll be back. “But I’m with my man Cesar right now. I said, ‘Cesar, you gotta show me the gold mines that surround me.”
He continued, “We’re on Martin Luther King, right in Adamsville. I grew up in these apartments doing some things that should’ve got my ass locked up forever. But now I’m here today learning how to invest. So Cesar, what we got?”
So to no surprise, people on social media questioned, “ Is Killer Mike involved with Cesar?”
This immediately caught the attention of the Run the Jewels rapper, who responded and shot down the accusations quickly in a tweet that read, “A mutual friend told me I should meet him so I did... we did no business, I never endorsed him and if u watch the video I just looked at some shit he showed me and got outta there.”
Clearly, Killer Mike doesn’t even wanna be associated with Pina or anyone allegedly involved with the scheme, and for good reason.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, “ Pina allegedly solicited dozens of individuals to provide him with millions of dollars to purchase and invest in residential properties. However, instead of sharing the profits, he defrauded his investors in a Ponzi scheme.”
