Trying to head off the kind of "Arab Spring" uprising that has swept through countries throughout the Middle East and Africa, Morocco's King Mohammed recently handed over some of his powers to elected officials in a referendum on Friday. Although 98.5 percent of voters endorsed the referendum, thousands of protesters in Morocco are saying it isn't enough.

Saaret Yoseph, a documentary filmmaker who is a contributor to The Root, sent us this video of one protest on Saturday in the northern Moroccan city of Meknes. According to translators contacted by Yoseph, the protesters in this video are complaining about government corruption, poor living conditions and a lack of jobs.

Reuters has more information about the protests in Morocco.
