Ten months after the devastating earthquake that destroyed much of Haiti's infrastructure and killed 300,000 people, Haiti is still in the throes of recovery. More than a half million Haitians are living in tents, and a devastating cholera epidemic has taken 1,500 lives. Few Haitians believe the Nov. 28 elections will change much. Reporter Josée Valcourt interviewed several Haitian Americans in New York about their hopes and fears for the election and produced this sound track with still photos for The Root.
