Fox 29 in Philadelphia is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles may have urged Michael Vick to abruptly cancel his scheduled appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
From the Huffington Post:
According to the report, the Eagles "voiced objections" to the quarterback's Oprah appearance.
Vick released a statement on Wednesday, saying he needs to postpone the taping and he hopes "to be able to participate in an interview in the future."
The interview was supposed to cover Vick's time in prison, his return to the NFL and his work with the Humane Society.
So now it looks like Vick might have enemies not just among dog lovers but among disappointed daytime talk-show viewers, too. Still, we're guessing that serious football fans won't lose sleep over this situation, so long as he doesn't cancel any appearances on the field.
(On another note, having had a window into the behind-the-scenes action at The Oprah Winfrey Show on the OWN Network, we can only imagine how the Queen of Talk reacted to this news. Guaranteed: Somewhere in Chicago, a producer is sweating bullets.)
