Robert Van Winkle—probably better known as Vanilla Ice—had to bail himself out of a Florida jail on Wednesday night after he was arrested on suspicion of felony home burglary and grand theft, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The 47-year-old rapper, who posted bail of $6,000, told local news stations that it was “a misunderstanding” as he left the Palm Beach County Jail.
According to the report, police began investigating a foreclosed home across the street from one that Van Winkle is renovating. (The rapper has his own home-renovation reality series called The Vanilla Ice Project.) Several items—including furniture and bicycles—had gone missing in December.
When officers searched the home that Van Winkle is renovating, they found many of the items that had reportedly been stolen from the foreclosed home. According to the Times, witnesses have claimed that the rapper was indeed involved in removing the items from the home.
Lantana, Fla., Police Chief Sean Scheller said, “Mr. Van Winkle has a different recollection of what happened.”
