Vanessa Williams, who gave up her Miss America crown more than 25 years ago after unauthorized nude photos of her appeared in Penthouse, has put her foot down about baring all in a new book. In an interview in Ebony's December/January issue, Williams said she recently turned down $600,000 for a tell-all book about her life. The publisher reportedly asked Williams to disclose intimate details about her marriages to Ramon Hervey II and former NBA star Rick Fox, both of which ended in divorce. The Desperate Houswives star declined because she didn't want to trash her children's dads, her rationale being that she was more interested in writing about herself and why she is a survivor of a sometimes unforgiving industry. In an industry quick to distort the image of black men, Williams' decision not to capitalize off of badmouthing her children's fathers is admirable. Television star or not, $600,000 is a lot of money to turn down.
