The woman at the center of the Donald Sterling scandal, V. Stiviano, is working her newfound fame as a result of a leaked recording of the Los Angeles Clippers owner’s racist ranting—a recording that her lawyer claims he requested.

According to the New York Post, Stiviano—hidden behind her now-trademark visor and surrounded by an entourage wearing hats emblazoned with her name—told a group of photographers that one day she’d be commander in chief.
“One day, I will become president of the United States of America. And I will change the legislation and laws,” she said in the video taken in Los Angeles, according to the Post. “Modern-day history. Civil rights movement.”
When one photographer told her that she was “bigger than Angelina Jolie,” she readily agreed, although with some modesty. “Just today, just today, guys,” she said.
Although she has been called the 80-year-old Sterling’s girlfriend, Stiviano has stated that she was his archivist and that her relationship with the team owner has always been professional.
Stiviano’s lawyer Mac Nehoray said that his client did not make the now-famous recordings public but that they were recorded by “mutual agreement” because he tended to forget sometimes. According to the Post, he and Stiviano do “have an idea” who leaked the incriminating tapes—in which Sterling could be heard telling the half-black Stiviano not to photograph herself with black people or bring them to the Clippers games—but he wouldn’t say anything more.
