Last year Usher, Nas and Bibi Bourelly launched an interactive video on Tidal for their song "Chains," which allowed users to become part of the experience. The song is a politically charged one against police brutality, and on Wednesday, the artists premiered new visuals for the tune.
Shot in black and white, the video shows Usher fleeing from the police, and then suddenly he's at his own memorial. The video also has children singing Nas' verse and holding up signs that read, "Am I Next?"
"With liberty and justice for all," a child states at the beginning of the clip, and it resonates because nowadays, it doesn't even seem that people can receive justice. With the deaths of unarmed black men in Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore, the video is a chilling reminder that justice isn't always an option when police take matters into their own hands.
