Nine people have been confirmed dead in the DC metro crash from yesterday.

POSTED THIS MORNING:

A collision between two rush hour commuter trains resulted in the deaths of at least six people and injured seventy-six others in the late afternoon Monday.

The accident took place on the above-ground Red Line track north of downtown Washington near the Maryland border. Both trains were on the same track and one train collided with the other, which was stationary.

The cause of the accident is unknown.
