On this episode of Unique Views, we get personal. Stephen Crockett Jr., Yesha Callahan and I wanted you to get a chance to know us, so we did the show without a guest. I know, you can barely holdn i your excitement. I get it.
For those of you who read The Root religiously, Yesha's name is familiar. She's literally our traffic queen, since all of her stories rank the highest on the site and constantly drive page views. Stephen and I try to keep up, but honestly, Yesha is a page-view machine.
However, this week, Stephen and I both had stellar articles that climbed their way up into Yesha's domain. Stephen took Michael Jordan to task about his long-awaited broken silence around the #BlackLivesMatter movement, and I used Michelle Obama's riveting Democratic National Convention speech, in which she said she wakes up every day in a house built by slaves, to teach the trolls who claimed she was lying that, in fact, the slaves had built much more than just the White House. So naturally, we bring this up in this episode.
We also talk at length about Michael Jordan's questionable wardrobe, Keshia Knight Pulliam's failed marriage and Hillary Clinton's pant suits; and find out that Stephen still lives at home with his mother, Yesha has a ridiculous amount of Twitter followers and I am so young, it makes Stephen and Yesha upset. Get to know us!
