The rate of unemployment for black women has dropped for the second consecutive month. In June the black female unemployment rate dropped from 12.4 percent to 11.8 percent. The rate is still higher than the national average for whites, but it is an improvement, at least statistically. This is the largest drop in unemployment among any other ethnic group. We wonder if this figure includes the number of black women who may have pulled out of the job search process altogether because of the failure to obtain employment. Nevertheless, we'll take this as a win. It's not often that you see "good news" and black women together in the media.
