Jada Pinkett Smith has made some changes to her social media life. The actress and producer went private on Instagram over Labor Day weekend, removing public access to her account...but not before posting a cryptic message that has everyone wondering.
As PEOPLE reported, the actress posted over the holiday weekend with a cryptic post about womanhood, as well as a carousel celebrating the end of summer. The post read, “A man can CHOOSE to belong to someone. And if he does… he is considered noble. A woman is told she MUST belong to someone or … she is not worthy.”
The caption continued this meditation on womanhood, with Pinkett Smith writing about how in some religions the “goddess” is seen as powerless “without her male counterpart.” She continued, “We mere mortal women are worthy simply because we exist! And those of us who have cultivated our Queendom within our inner kingdom and have a deep relationship with the Great Supreme.”
She concluded that we “need not bond in fear,” asking her followers to “walk with that” over the holiday weekend. The day before, Pinkett Smith rang in the end of summer with photos from the last few months, including various beachside pics and video of her on a jet ski.
“Summer is coming to an end and my heart has been blooming in so many ways,” she wrote in the caption. “Can’t wait to share. Till then…I’m just embracing the last of the summer vibez.”
Pinkett Smith’s latest post is not the first time she has been refreshingly candid about her life and thoughts. As The Root previously reported, she let the world into many specific details about her life following up to the release of her 2023 memoir “Worthy.”
The memoir offered her perspective on everything from the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap moment to how a seven-year “separation” from her husband actually helped their marriage in the long run.
