Although his “fast and furious” social media posts of the last few weeks have caused many to question Tyrese Gibson’s mental health, a judge ruled in his favor on Friday, allowing him to see his 10-year-old daughter.
The New York Daily News reports that a Los Angeles judge dismissed a domestic violence restraining order brought by Gibson’s ex-wife, Norma Mitchell, which alleged that the 38-year-old actor hit his daughter so hard that she could not sit.
The parents will reportedly return to 50-50 custody of their daughter, Shayla Gibson, in January.
A source told the news that Judge Shelley Kaufman said she found no “ongoing pattern of abuse.”
Kaufman also touched on Gibson’s social media posts of the last few weeks, including one in which he cried over the ongoing custody battle, calling them “melodramatic,” but not in violation of a temporary restraining order that prevented the actor from seeing his daughter for more than two months.
“He is a public figure who communicates with the public, and I don’t find this was a mechanism to communicate directly with the restrained parties,” she said.
The judge also dismissed claims from Mitchell, who alleged that Gibson abused her, too.
