Alongside Thandie Newton and Gabrielle Union, Tyler Perry stars in his own upcoming film, Good Deeds. It's the story of a privileged man who gets a new perspective on life when he meets and decides to help out a homeless woman.
Perry actually dresses in men's clothing, there are no immediately detectable played-out stereotypes about African-American women and this is not the one featuring "role model" Kim Kardashian. So we're interested to see whether those who traditionally take issues with Perry's work will receive this project more enthusiastically when it comes out in February. For now, we have to say the just-released trailer itself is actually a little bit of a tearjerker — check it out here and let us know what you think:
