One of the friends of Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev might be in big trouble with the law but is finding support on Twitter.Â
Robel Phillipos was arrested on conspiracy charges for allegedly lying to investigators. Two other friends of Tsarnaev, Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, have been charged with willfully conspiring to commit an offense against the United States by destroying or concealing items to impede or influence a criminal investigation. Authorities allege the friends tried to help Tsarnaev after they realized he was a suspect. Phillipos, a 19-year-old Ethiopian-American who went to both high school and college with the bombing suspect, faces the harshest sentence of the three.
Twitter users have been showing support for Phillipos with the hashtag #FreeRobel. Some of the tweets appear below.
