(The Root) — Three years after her death, citizens of Twitter are apparently still mourning the loss of legendary singer and actress Lena Horne.
Horne began her career as a dancer at the famous Cotton Club in Harlem. From there she would become a famous actress, singer and nightclub performer. Later in life she became an outspoken advocate for civil rights, and remained so until her death in 2010 at the age of 92.
There is a chance that folks on Twitter and Facebook are commemorating the anniversary of her death, which was yesterday — or they have no idea that Horne died three years ago. It wouldn't be the first time Twitter has incorrectly marked a celebrity's passing; Twitter has killed off the likes of Cher, Tony Yayo and Denzel Washington to date. Horne just may be the first person to be Twitter-killed after her actual death, though.
Here are 10 people who probably totally knew that Horne died three years ago and surely don't think it just happened. Right?
