’Parks and Recreation’ - Peacock
If you still want a little politics, but you don’t want all the negativity that goes along with it, binge Seasons 5 and 6 of “Parks and Recreation.” The comedy is simultaneously inspiring and absurd. It’s the perfect real world election alternative.
‘Star Wars’ Franchise - Disney+
Sometimes you just need to know that the good guys will when and the Empire can be defeated. It may take time, but eventually the Death Star is destroyed.

We’re always here for Black presidents running the country, and looking cool while doing it. Morgan Freeman takes over the Oval Office in the third entry in this action franchise starring Gerard Butler as a secret service who must keep saving the president from wild disasters.

Jamie Foxx is a super cool, idealistic president who teams with Channing Tatum’s Capitol Police officer to save the White House from attack.
‘Loot’ - AppleTV+
Maya Rudolph has done an amazing job as Kamala Harris on “SNL.” However, if you want to see a different side of her, she’s brilliantly funny as ridiculous billionaire Molly Wells in the underrated AppleTV+ comedy.
‘Game of Thrones’/’House of the Dragon’ - Max
If you need your politics sprinkled with dragons and magic, the fantasy universe is always an attention grabbing distraction. Careful, one episode is never enough.
‘Quincy’ - Netflix
In light of the legend’s recent passing, it feels like a great time to check out this documentary chronicling his extraordinary life. It was co-written and co-directed by his daughter, actress Rashida Jones.
‘Lioness’ - Paramount+
For another dose of female empowerment, Zoë Saldaña is a tough CIA station chief in this action drama about women who infiltrate the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations.
