The world lost one of its greatest actresses Wednesday when Mary Tyler Moore died at the age of 80.

“Today, beloved icon, Mary Tyler Moore, passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine,” Mara Buxbaum, Moore’s publicist, said in a statement, according to TMZ. “A groundbreaking actress, producer and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile.”

Moore was best-known for her roles in The Dick Van Dyke Show and, of course, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, which ran for seven years and held the record for most Emmys won, 29, until it was broken by Frasier.

Although TMZ reported that Moore was suffering from a number of health problems, her cause of death was not released. Moore is survived by her husband, Levine.
