Well, isn’t this just like the 1 percent? While the president is currently pushing to build a dumb-ass wall that no one wants and the administration is looking to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration policy, Trump International Beach Resort has asked the government for permission to hire more temporary foreign workers to labor as housekeepers.

According to BuzzFeed News, the beach resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., licenses King Deplorable’s name and is owned by the International Resorts Management Group. The resort has asked the government for approval to bring on 10 housekeepers at only $10.64 an hour and says that the reason it has to hire foreign workers is that no Americans want the job.

“Including this latest request, companies owned by Trump or bearing his name have already sought to hire at least 380 foreign guest workers under the federal H-2 visa guest worker programs since June of 2015 when he announced his presidential campaign. Most recently, in July, Mar-A-Lago, the private club that Trump calls his Winter White House, asked for permission to hire 70 foreign workers as cooks, servers and housekeepers, according to Labor Department records,” BuzzFeed News reports.

The White House and Trump International Hotel did not return BuzzFeed News’ request for comment, but they did note that Donald Trump has claimed in the past that it’s “almost impossible” to find Americans who want such jobs.

“You can’t get help,” Trump told MSNBC in 2015, BuzzFeed reported, when asked about his use of the H-2 visa program allowing employers to bring in guest workers from other countries. The program also requires the company to prove that it has tried to fill these jobs with American workers before it is allowed to hire guest workers, the news site notes.
