Thursday, Feb. 14, 1:39 a.m. EST: When is George Zimmerman's "Stand your ground" hearing actually happening? We'll find out soon. The judge presiding over his trial is holding a hearing today in Sanford, Fla., to discuss jury selection. Lead defense attorney Mark O'Mara says in a motion that he wants to discuss the process for what he expects will be an "extended" jury selection, the Huffington Post reports. He also asked to nail down the scheduling of the hearing on Zimmerman's "Stand your ground" defense.
Tuesday, Feb. 12, 3:49 p.m. EST: Forensic evidence both supports and casts doubt on Zimmerman's claims: The evidence supports Zimmerman's claims that Trayvon Martin was leaning over him when he fired his gun, but it casts doubt on the former neighborhood-watch captain's timeline on the night he shot and killed the unarmed teen nearly a year ago, according to a review by Tony Pipitone for WKMG Local 6 Orlando News, the Orlando Sentinel reports. The timeline hurts Zimmerman's credibility, Pipitone said, if people want to believe that he was walking to his truck and was attacked by Trayvon. "So much time is unaccounted for that would allow him to get back to the truck," Pipitone said. Legal analyst Luis Calderon indicates that the timeline shows that Trayvon had "plenty of time" to return home and "it's obvious something made him stay there."
Monday, Feb. 11, 11:45 a.m. EST: Jamie Foxx joins Trayvon Martin's parents for peace walk: On Saturday, actor Jamie Foxx joined Trayvon Martin's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, in Miami for a Day of Remembrance Peace Walk in honor of the Florida teen, who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman nearly a year ago. "The thing is, with press, and you know how press goes, it will be a hot story at one point. It will be the thing to go to, and all of a sudden, they try to forget about it," Foxx said, the Huffington Post reports. "And I said I don't want anybody to forget about this, because they can't forget about the fact that they lost their son."
