Friday, Jan. 25, 12:13 p.m. EST: Witness: I saw "a heavier man on top": On Wednesday, attorneys for George Zimmerman deposed a woman who told Sanford, Fla., police that the night Trayvon Martin was shot, she saw two figures fighting, "a heavier man on top," the Orlando Sentinel reports. Zimmerman outweighed the 17-year-old by 45 pounds, according to prosecution records.

Thursday, Jan. 24, 11:29 a.m. EST: Special prosecutor: I have jurisdiction to charge Shellie Zimmerman: The special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin murder case is arguing that her office has jurisdiction to put George Zimmerman's wife, Shellie Zimmerman, on trial for perjury for lying under oath about how much money she and Zimmerman had, the Sun Sentinel reports. An order by Gov. Rick Scott when he renewed Special Prosecutor Angela Corey's appointment in the case expressly spelled out that Corey's assignment included "the cases filed against George Zimmerman and Shellie Zimmerman."

Wednesday, Jan. 23, 12:19 p.m. EST: Zimmerman attorneys depose a key witness: Attorneys representing George Zimmerman in his second-degree-murder trial have deposed key state witness Mary Cutcher, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Cutcher didn't see Zimmerman kill teenager Trayvon Martin but told authorities she heard the gunshot, then saw a man standing over Trayvon's body, straddling it and appearing to press down on him. She criticized the Sanford Police Department for not immediately arresting Zimmerman and for not taking her seriously or keeping appointments.
