The city set aside $15,000 for advertising and spent $10,000 to hire a local firm to help it restore its reputation as "the Friendly City" after it became the focus of international attention over the case.

Monday, May 29, 6:58 p.m. EDT: Motion filed to prevent judge from sealing evidence in the case against George Zimmerman: Attorneys for the Orlando Sentinel and other media filed motions Tuesday seeking to prevent a judge from sealing evidence in the case against George Zimmerman, the Orlando Sentinel reports. His defense attorney, Mark O'Mara, has issued a statement saying that prosecutors have turned over only "about half" of the evidence gathered so far in the second-degree-murder case against Zimmerman.

Barney Frank is apologizing for comments he made about Trayvon Martin, the unarmed Florida teen who was shot and killed by neighborhood-watch captain George Zimmerman in February. Referring to the hooded academic robe that civil rights leader Hubie Jones received at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth commencement on Sunday, he said, "You now have a hoodie you can wear and no one will shoot at you." Frank later explained that the joke was meant to "ridicule the notion that a hooded sweatshirt is somehow sinister," reports the Associated Press.
