Jason Thompson and his 4-year-old son, Xavier, were on their way to see the movie Zootopia when they were forced off a Toronto bus by police who were called because Thompson didn't look like he could be Xavier's father.

"A white guy with a brown kid doesn't mean that anything is going on," Thompson, who has albinism, told Global News. "This is Toronto. We're a multicultural city. Let's embrace it and relax, everyone."

Thompson told the news station that he was on the bus with his son when it stopped and no one was allowed to leave. Police then came onto the bus and escorted Thompson and Xavier off the bus.

Thompson added that the hardest part was trying to explain to Xavier what was going on.

"I said, 'Somebody called and said I'm not your daddy and they were worried,' " Thompson told Global News. "And he looked at me and said, 'You are my daddy.' "

The cops quickly realized that no crime had been committed and offered the father and son a ride home.

"So we get back in the patrol car, we're heading down the street and my son's like, 'This is where the bad guys sit,' and the officer's like, 'No, the good guys sit there, too,' " Thompson told Global News. "We're good guys right now."

Thompson said that he still couldn't believe that someone called police because he or she assumed that because he's lighter than his son, the boy must have been abducted.

"It's sickening to me that someone would actually take that step," Thompson told Global News.
