The legal battle between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez is not ending any time soon, as the controversial Canadian artist and his legal team have responded once again to the Houston rapper’s request to have a restraining order.

In a complaint filed last week, Lanez and his attorneys claim that the “Bigger In Texas” rapper “has improperly decided to use the Los Angeles County civil court to file a frivolous request for civil harassment restraining order against Daystar Peterson, who has had zero direct contact with Ms. Pete,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The complaint also adds, “When celebrity with millions of dollars and backed by large corporations disagrees with free speech or opinions, they weaponize the justice system, failing to understand that they are public figures, who voluntarily catapulted themselves into the limelight, unable to deal with the controversy and public opinions.”

His attorneys specifically cite California Code of Civil Procedure S. 527.8, which does not allow a court to issue a restraining order that restricts a person’s freedom of speech, according to California Legislative Information.

Mari Henderson, Megan’s attorney, took no time to respond to Lanez’s complaint, saying in a statement to PEOPLE just a few days later, “It is delusional that a felon convicted of a violent crime for shooting a victim, and then further harassing her, is even contesting a request for a protective order and we are confident the court will act to protect the victim.”

If you recall, just a week prior to this complaint, Lanez and his attorneys first responded to Megan’s restraining order by urging the public not to “jump to conclusions” after Megan’s attorneys showed receipts of $3,000 paid to blogger Milagra Gramz, who the rapper claims is working with Lanez to post misinformation about the “Otaku Hot Girl” rapper on social media and the case that resulted him being sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In her request for a restraining order, Megan’s attorneys asked a Los Angeles judge to stop Lanez from using third parties to engage in online harassment of the Houston rapper, which is in reference to the claims that Lanez and his father are using vlogger Milagro Cooper (also known as Milagro Gramz or Mobz World) to perpetuate the harassment of Megan with Cooper serving as Lanez’s “mouthpiece.”
