Beyonce’s Renaissance tour may be over but her own mother, Tina Knowles, is letting fans in on a hilarious part of her daughter’s backstage behavior—in true mom fashion.
Speaking in an interview on Monday’s Halloween episode of the Sherri Show, Miss Tina revealed that the “Break My Soul” singer frequently catches an attitude during the heat of the moment when she’s rushing to change outfits backstage on tour.
“We laughed about this recently because I was saying, ‘girl you get really mean back there.’ I am really happy that I don’t have to be back there anymore because I used to do the quick change,” Miss Tina explained. “We laughed because she used to do ‘Flaws and All’ and she would say ‘Imma [bitch] in the morning.’ And I’m like ‘in the evening too when that concert going.’”
She later added that Bey would always apologize after the fact once the pressures of the night finally subside and that she ultimately understands what she’s going through in those moments.
Naturally, the clip began circulating online with many lovingly touting Bey’s behavior as true Virgo energy while others were amused at Miss Tina just putting her daughter’s business out in public (much like all our moms if given the chance.)
However, it seems like the latter sentiment must have gotten back to Miss Tina (can we call you, Mama Tina?) as she reposted the interview clip on her own Instagram and tried to hilariously clarify her words in the caption.
“You know, I’m gonna get in trouble when she sees this. So I would just clarify that she is not the only one fussing we all are . But it’s all love after she hits that stage and looks fabulous. But Quick change is not a place for people with sensitive temperaments. You have to be gangsta!!! ❤️❤️ ,” she wrote. “Also don’t misunderstand, let me clarify ! she would not be crying because she got on our case , because we were screwing up . I was joking that when she was singing flaws and all that when she would cry on the song . My joke was that it was because she had been mean to us, but that was just a joke people.”
“She don’t play when it comes to her shows ! She is a perfectionist, because she feels like she and her fans deserve the best. You have to have your stuff together to work for her ? She is a boss at all times and will not hesitate to get in your stuff if you mess up. ❤️❤️” she concluded.
It’s all good Miss Tina, it’s nice to see that Bey is a real person who can have her moments just like the rest of us. And that you’re a real mom who can check her on it when need be.
