When asked on Thursday afternoon if he would still be leading New York on Friday, embattled Governor David Paterson told a group of reporters, "Yes." He did not answer a follow-up question as to whether he would be governor next week. See the video from NBC New York below:
Meanwhile, a group of black leaders organized by Rev. Al Sharpton met at Sylvia's soul food restaurant in Harlem, reportedly to discuss whether they should ask the scandal-plagued governor to resign. They haven't released a statement yet. This comes just five days after the same group met and decided to stick by Paterson.
