Tiger Woods' former golfing buddy and caddy Steve Williams is spilling the beans in a new memoir about his relationship with the golf icon, and a lot of it isn't pretty.
In Williams' Out of the Rough, he said that he was kept in the dark when Woods' extramarital affair blew up. In excerpts posted on the Huffington Post, Williams recalls being bombarded by paparazzi during a family vacation without having a clue about what was true, what was happening and how to engage the media.
Williams said that he confronted Woods about the affair and Woods' "bad temper" in general. The most shocking revelation is that Williams felt that he was being treated like a "slave" whenever Woods would toss his golf club about and expect Williams to fetch it.
"One thing that really pissed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up," Williams wrote. "I felt uneasy about bending down to pick up his discarded club—it was like I was his slave."
Interestingly enough, though, slaves weren't paid the way Williams was during his tenure with Woods.
