Somehow, someway, the 2024 GOP presidential possibilities keep going from bad to worse. Earlier this week, we saw Donald Trump win the Iowa Caucuses by a historic margin. The remaining Republican candidates, Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, could receive the nomination if Trump becomes ineligible for the presidency.
Colorado and Maine have attempted to respectively remove Trump from their ballots (Washington State tried as well but a judge denied their efforts). However, the threat of another term just became even more stomach-churning: Donald Trump Jr. has stated that Tucker Carlson could be his father’s pick for Vice President.
During an interview with Newsmax’s Rob Finnerty, Junior stated that Carlson becoming Trump’s VP “clearly would be on the table” if he wins the nomination. “I mean they’re very friendly, I think they agree on virtually all of these things,” Trump Jr. said on “Wake Up America.”
“They certainly agree on stopping the never-ending wars. And so, I would love to see that happen. That would certainly be a contender,” he continued. Trump has publicly said he knows who his pick will be. However, in November the former president expressed the same scary ass sentiment when it comes to considering Carlson for the job.
“I like Tucker a lot; I guess I would,” Trump previously stated. “I think I’d say I would, because he’s got great common sense.” Carlson rose to fame by pushing hateful white supremacist rhetoric on his primetime show on Fox News for six years. He was let go from the network in April.
The abrupt decision came after Fox agreed to pay $787 million to settle a defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting System for spreading lies that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. The possibility of Trump once again seizing the White House is a dangerous reality, but Trump and Carlson together? That’s just pure evil.
