Our regularly scheduled bout of crying on Tuesday nights will continue for at least three more seasons as NBC has called for a 4th, 5th and 6th season of fan-favorite This Is Us.
We have tuned in weekly to watch the trials and tribulations of the Pearson family—beginning with the highly acclaimed first season. It was after the first season that the show got its first multi-season renewal—when the network called for a second and third season, as Variety notes.
The show, which stars Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, Milo Ventimiglia and Justin Hartley, follows the lives of the Pearson family both current day and in the past. According to Variety, it is one of the top shows on all of television and is the No. 1 scripted broadcast series among the 18-49-year-old adult demographic.
This renewal puts This Is Us in the position to break into the lucrative syndication game once production is done on the show. When asked specifically whether or not the show would end after six seasons, NBC Entertainment co-president Paul Telegdy said Sunday that is an open question for now, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Susan Kelechi Watson and Sterling K. Brown found the renewal news to be something worth dancing about, and they shared their cute celebration with Twitter.
Three more seasons of This Is Us means three more seasons of Randall and Beth.
It just doesn’t get any better than that.
