Knowa De Baraso, a content creator and rising star within the Democratic Party, captured the hearts and minds of attendees at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week. And he’s only 12 years old.
An influencer from Georgia with 69,400 followers on X who discusses his political views and battles misinformation, De Baraso is also the youngest person to attend the convention this year.
He had the opportunity to meet many big names within the Democratic Party at the convention, such as the U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Rev. Al Sharpton, Rep. Justin Pearson and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Most notably, he had a confrontation with Mike Lindell, the CEO of pillow manufacturing company MyPillow. He went viral for the interview, with many claiming Lindell was humiliated by De Baraso, who checked him for spreading sourceless information about the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump.
Twitter/X is loving the 12-year-old’s spunk and engagement with the election.
“I’m so proud of this young man,” a reply tweet said in response to an interview De Baraso had with Sky News, amid other comments affirming De Baraso’s intelligence at such a young age.
“How does this little boy have more sense and better understanding of how government politics work than you ‘voting doesn’t matter’ adults?,” another comment added.
De Baraso is also an advocate for encouraging the media to cater to young people through social media. He says social media will be very important in this election.
“Kids, 20-year-olds and 30-year-olds don’t typically read old school news. They go to TikTok for their information. They go to Twitter for their information. They’re kind of tired of old school media,” he said in an interview with SkyNews.
There are 8 million new eligible voters for the 2024 election, which makes it crucial for Vice President Harris to engage with Generation Z voters.
