Shortly after a Los Angeles jury found Derrick Rose and two friends not liable for the rape of a California woman, things got strange.
Before leaving the courtroom Wednesday, the judge cracked a joke with Rose, telling the newly acquired New York Knicks point guard, "Best wishes … except when the Knicks play the Lakers," TMZ Sports reports.
Uh, what?!
After the trial, the only two male jurors posed for photos with Rose and his lawyer. Rose's lawyer even pulled the media-vilified-my-clients-because-they're-black card. Only the media didn't. They covered a very weird trial that exposed Derrick Rose as a freak with a penchant for sex belts.
"The media reporting was biased against the black men," Rose's attorney, Mark Baute, said after the trial. "Blatantly obvious."
"We're just very relieved that the system worked,” he continued. “We had a jury of seven white people and one Hispanic who exonerated three black men. It was fantastic."
