On Thursday, Simone Biles became the first woman to win three consecutive titles at the World Gymnastics Championships, and standing next to her on the podium was Gabby Douglas, who came in second place.

"Everyone wanted the three-peat and I wanted it, so tonight I felt the pressure and it wasn't my best meet," Biles stated after her win. "What surprises me is that it was a bad meet for me, and to still come out on top with the largest margin of victory [of three titles] was really crazy because I could have done so much better."

Douglas won silver Thursday and was honored to stand next to her friend. "She's amazing," Douglas said of Biles. "Me and Simone, we really wanted to go out here and just have fun. We're like, 'Let's crush it! Let's break the events!' We just really wanted to enjoy it because it goes by so fast."

Now the women are on their way to the 2016 Summer Olympics, where they will no doubt be each other's toughest competitor.
