In honor of the seminal novel's 75th anniversary, The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR will bring Zora Neal Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God to the FM airwaves with the first-ever radio adaptation of the novel in the United States.

Tony Award-winning actor Ruben Santiago-Hudson is directing the adaptation, with a notable cast including household names Phylicia Rashad, Roslyn Ruff, Leslie Uggams and Brandon Dirdon.

The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR present the American premiere of Their Eyes Were Watching God: A Radio Drama today at 7 p.m. EST on New York Radio.

A live webcast will accompany the radio broadcast for those not in the New York area, and it can be watched below. The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR plans to broadcast the radio adaptation nationally in September.
