Convicted “pharma bro” and supreme fuckboy Martin Shkreli may have to give the government the world’s only copy of the Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin if federal prosecutors have their way.
On Thursday they asked U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto in New York to seize $7.4 million in assets from Shkreli, who was convicted in August of defrauding investors.
The government said it would like to keep the $5 million that Shkreli paid in bail and listed other assets—including the Wu-Tang album, a Picasso painting and an Enigma machine from World War II, which broke codes—to make up the difference.
They also want to seize his holdings in Turing Pharmaceuticals, where, as CEO, he raised the price of a lifesaving drug, Daraprim, by 5,000 percent.
Shkreli became America’s most prominent douchebag before his conviction when he enacted the infamous price hike and when he bought the only copy of Once Upon a Time and said he had no plans to listen to it.
And though he paid the $5 million in bail, Shkreli was jailed in September after he put a post on Facebook post offering a $5,000 reward for a strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair.
Shkreli is now in jail in New York City’s Brooklyn borough awaiting sentencing on Jan. 16, 2018. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
