Nicki Minaj was not billed as an official guest on Saturday Night Live, but she crashed the party anyway.
Musical guest the Weeknd brought her out to perform a remix of “The Hills” during his Saturday Night Live debut. The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, sang the first half of the song solo before Minaj appeared onstage to rousing applause to perform “her new and unexpected verse on the track,” says MTV News.
Minaj was decked in a sultry, see-through purple-and-red Balmain dress and black, thigh-high Alexander McQueen boots. Her Instagram post about the performance in her hometown of New York City has garnered over 400,000 likes.
The performance came as two remixes of “The Hills” launched on iTunes, the other remix featuring Eminem.
Amy Schumer made her official debut as host of the show, delivering an eight-minute stand-up routine “where she riffed on the state of women in Hollywood, the Kardashians, and meeting Hillary Clinton and Bradley Cooper.”
