The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards will be a throwback to the ’90s—at least as far as its hosts are concerned.
Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold—real-life best friends who also played besties on the hit comedy series Martin—will host the event BET Presents: 2018 Soul Train Awards, which will air on BET in late November.
Erykah Badu, a previous Soul Train Awards host, will be honored with the “Legend Award” for her over 20 years in the music business, and Faith Evans is slated to receive the “Lady of Soul Award.”
BET officially announced the nominees on Thursday. H.E.R. tops the list with seven nominations, followed closely by Cardi B and Bruno Mars who have six nominations each. H.E.R.’s nominations include “Song of the Year,” “Best R&B/Soul Female Artist,” “Album/Mixtape of the Year,” “Best Collaboration Performance,” “Video of the Year,” and two nods in the “The Ashford and Simpson Songwriters Award” category for the songs “Best Part” and “Focus.”
Cardi and Bruno are up for “Song of the Year” together with “Finesse.”
Other notable nominees include SZA, Ella Mai and Daniel Caesar.
The Soul Train Awards will be recorded Nov. 17 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will air Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. ET on BET.
