Brrrr, what happened to that relationship?

Wow, the end of 2018 saw the loss of iconic black Hollywood couple Forest Whitaker’s and Keisha Nash Whitaker’s marriage, and 2019 can’t even get comfortable on Big Mama’s plastic-covered couch without another celebrity breakup.

This time, it’s Birdman and Toni Braxton.

According to E! News, Birdman wrote a solitary and cryptic “It’s over...” caption on his Instagram Story on Tuesday and also deleted every picture of the “Un-break My Heart” singer from his account.

On the flip-side, Toni took the “thank you, next” approach and posted a pic of herself in a bad bitch red gown, coupled with an inspirational caption.

“Starting a new chapter isn’t always an easy choice...but ALWAYS choose to be chosen. Cheers to a new year,” she wrote on New Year’s Day. New year; new relationship status.

Folks also noticed the once inseparable duo unfollowed each other on Instagram, which is more contractually binding than a divorce judgment.

Raise your hand if you kind of saw this coming, though.

It was spring 2016 when we first heard rumors circulating that the unlikely pair was dating. Toni claimed they’d actually been friends for 17 years. Cut to February 2018, and they were engaged.

Just recently, this November, Toni excitedly spoke about their upcoming wedding on The Wendy Williams Show.

“We almost had a date,” the 51-year-old admitted at the time. “Well, we had two dates. But we were doing Braxton Family Values and we were going through a little drama. And I was like, ‘The wedding is a good thing to get all the sisters together.’ [But] I couldn’t get us all together.”

Shortly after that appearance, she lost her $5 million engagement ring to apparent theft, after leaving it in her checked luggage for some spellbinding reason.

Perhaps, that was an omen.
