The only thing we love more than a blackety-black gathering is one where we’re dressed to the nines—and in its 50th year, the NAACP Image Awards did not disappoint. The Root’s entertainment writer, Tonja Stidhum was on site this year and rightly called it “the blackest red carpet.” We’re inclined to agree—and always welcome an opportunity to celebrate the combination of black excellence and black elegance.

Tonja’s already compiled the award winners, but who won on the red carpet? Anyone wearing a variation of yellow or pink—both of which have emerged as the colors of the season on the red carpet and runways alike. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that both work brilliantly on brown skin—but then again, what doesn’t?

Also delightful? Seeing our faves from stage, screens big and small, politics, literature, fashion and more, all in one place—it was a blacks-travaganza! But enough gushing—if you’re here, you want to know what they wore, and as always, we’ve got the lewks!

Oh, and Bey and Jay were there, too.
