R&B singer Teyana Taylor and her fiance, the NBA's Iman Shumpert, became parents to a bouncing baby girl Wednesday morning.
But Taylor didn't have an ordinary delivery. In an Instagram post, she describes how she went into labor in her bathroom at home, and how she didn't even know she was in labor until she felt the baby's head coming out.
"Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head…it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands!" Taylor recalls.
Taylor said that Shumpert, of the Cleveland Cavaliers, played doctor and was quick on his feet, tying "a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord." Good thinking, Iman! "[T]he ambulance made their grand entrance 5 min later."
Of Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr.'s arrival, Taylor continued, "She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried! He handed her to me wrapped in our bath towel and wiped her face for me to see what LOVE really is."
What a wonderful story and a wonderful gift from God this holiday season. Congratulations to Taylor and Shumpert.
