Oh the shade. “I was dating a guy and he dumped me through a text message and he dumped me for this singer/actress who was famous at the time,” she said on the podcast episode. She went on to say that this ex of hers “lied about it for months” and then “popped out” with his new girlfriend. “It became like this public thing and it was like, ‘Oh my God, we love them. Another celebrity iconic relationship,’” she added.

Nicole then said that while she was “heartbroken” about the split, she dressed up as his ex’s new girlfriend for Halloween that year. “It went viral, it was everywhere,” she explained. While she said she would “never do that again” and has “grown so much,” she said she “got a good laugh out of it.”

Of course, all of the online conversation seemingly made its way to Taylor, who wrote underneath an Instagram post on The Shade Room about Nicole and her Halloween. She explained, “it’s really crazy that everyone is allowed to bother me & be distasteful... EVERYBODY gets to play.. while I move with grace. ALWAYS!”

She then said “F-ck the Iman part,” writing that she is happily divorced, but that Nicole’s words were “very distasteful and uncalled for.”

She added that Nicole by mentioning the Halloween story people “would dig.” She continued, “So automatically my name is attached to the nonsense.”

She kept going, then referring to Nicole’s comments about receiving hate from Taylor Swift fans lately (Nicole dated Swift’s current boyfriend, NFL’s Travis Kelce, before he got with the pop star). “She pulled the black card when it came to Taylor Swift, but in the same circle, turned around and tried to bully the black woman that was married to her situationship she claimed ‘dumped her’ for me,” she wrote on Instagram. “Dressing up like me for what??”

She even took to Instagram with a post of all of the projects she has coming up. “I know 2025 gone hate to see a Taylor coming,” she wrote on the post with a list of titles like her upcoming Dionne Warwick biopic, a Ryan Muprhy TV series and more.

For some online, Taylor took it a step too far when saying that Nicole “pulled the Black card.” One user wrote on X, “Teyana obviously hurt because she had to find out about another side chick with the rest of us. And she has the right to be. Kayla did not have to do that knowing all that woman been through with that man.”

Another shared similar sentiments, writing, “Kayla said what she did was crazy af. We all said what she did was crazy af. It didn’t warrant Teyana chiming in and saying things like a black woman pulled the black card when it was legitimate Racism she dealt with.”
