A Texas man has been charged with attacking his young daughter while she was at a dance practice for her quinceañera, a traditional Latin American celebration of a young girl's journey to maturity as she turns 15, Click2Houston.com reports.
Aaron Aranza, 37, from Houston was slapped with charges for injury to a child under 15. According to the news site, the 14-year-old girl was at her grandmother’s house with friends when she elected to dance with one of her black male friends.
This allegedly upset her father, who attacked her with a belt, causing her injury, before she was dragged outside and beaten again, Click2Houston notes.
Aranza then left the scene before the authorities came, but he was later tracked down and arrested. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.
