What has the world come to when a teenager can't find a summer job? 2010 is looking like 1940, because the jobless rate for teenagers hasn't been this bleak since then. The teen jobless rate is at 26 percent, which has made for a lean summer. July is typically the height of the employment season for teenagers. Experts are predicting that the poor jobless picture for teens will last throughout the Christmas season. One of the reasons teens are unemployed is that older workers are returning to the workforce. Grandma and Grandpa are displacing the grandkids. It's a precarious time indeed.
