When it comes to “Doth protest too much when it comes to why you choose to date interracially,” Taye Diggs should be awarded a gold medal. In a recent interview on Van Lathan’s The Red Pill Podcast, Diggs blamed his mother for his white-women-dating-and-marrying history.
Diggs, who was previously married to Idina Menzel, says that when he was 13, his mother made an interesting comment about his future mating habits, and initially The Glow Up’s Maiysha Kai and I thought to title this post, “Taye Diggs Actually Thinks We Give a Fuck Who He’s Fucking,” but figured that was one too many fucks.
“When I was 13, I was reading a magazine and there was a picture of a black woman and I said, ‘Oh, she’s pretty, I want to marry her.’ And my mom said, ‘Oh, honey, you’re going to marry a white woman.’ It hurt my feelings, but she was right,” Diggs said.
Well, maybe his mother saw something in him at the time? Who knows, but Diggs also tends to think that black women resent him because he’s a known swirler ... but let the record show that plenty of black women don’t give a damn who he’s fucking.
If he’s insecure about his own dating preferences, that’s his problem. Who he pokes his penis into shouldn’t matter to anyone but the person being poked, but please, miss me with the “Woe is me, black women don’t like me because I like white women” act. And speaking of acting, his is pretty subpar. Maybe black women prefer men with talent?
Diggs, who says that he’ s now dating a black woman, also went on to say that he doesn’t know if he can be with a white woman now because of said fake resentment from black women that he’s made up in his pea-sized brain.
“I don’t know if I can mess with a white girl now. ... I feel like I’ve had to deal with that so long, it’s changed what I think I like, what I’m attracted to. ... It’s not where my eyes gravitate to naturally,” Diggs stated.
Dude, date whomever you want to date. Stop trying to push your own dating preferences and insecurities onto black women. And if you’re that insecure about your preferences, maybe find a biracial woman—best of both worlds, right (/s)?
