Actress Louise Linton, wife of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, got called out for being extra for the ’gram after she hashtagged her Valentino shoes and her Hermès scarf in a photo of herself and her deplorable stepping off Air Force One. And, like most white women spoiled and privileged, she took the opportunity to launch a bunch of classist attacks.
As Yahoo! News notes, it all started Monday after Linton posted a photo that was tagged up on some #BadAndBougie shit. One Instagram user called out how tacky it was for Linton to hashtag the designers of her clothing, because it was.
Her Instagram post read: “Great #daytrip to #Kentucky! #nicest #people #beautiful #countryside #rolandmouret pants #tomford sunnies, #hermesscarf #valentinorockstudheels #valentino #usa”
Linton has tagged her pricey items in photos before, but let’s get real here: It’s completely classless for the spouse of a Cabinet member to floss for the ’gram—and also grow up and never call sunglasses “sunnies,” you imbecile.
“Jenni M” responded to Linton’s post, noting, “Glad we could pay for your little getaway. #deplorable”
Linton, being the deplorable that she is, then perused Jenni M’s Instagram page (because that’s how all IG baddies roll) and wrote a lengthy response coming for Jenni M’s family and children:
@Jennimiller29 cute!....Aw!! Did you think this was a personal trip?! Adorable! Do you think the US govt paid for our honeymoon or personal travel?! Lololol. Have you given more to the economy than me and my husband? Either as an individual earner in taxes OR in self sacrifice to your country? I’m pretty sure we paid more taxes toward our day “trip” than you did. Pretty sure the amount we sacrifice per year is a lot more than you’d be willing to sacrifice if the choice was yours. You’re adorably out of touch. Thanks for the passive aggressive nasty comment. Your kids look very cute. Your life looks cute. I know you’re mad but deep down you’re really nice and so am I. Sending me passive aggressive Instagram comments isn’t going to make life feel better. Maybe a nice message, one filled with wisdom and hunanity [sic] would get more traction. Have a pleasant evening. Go chill out and watch the new game of thrones. It’s fab! Pretty sure the amount we sacrifice per year is a lot more than you’d be willing to sacrifice if the choice was yours. You’re adorably out of touch.
Yahoo! News notes that the post was quickly taken down and Linton’s IG has been made private. A spokesperson for Mnuchin did not immediately respond to Yahoo!’s request for comment.
