A “cloaking device” would have come in handy last week for a traveling companion of Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols, who played Lt. Uhura on the popular, classic TV series.

The 81-year-old actress was stopped at Los Angeles International Airport Friday after her 20-something male companion was discovered carrying drugs, New York’s Daily News reports, citing reports at TMZ

Investigators told TMZ that Nichols and her male companion were at the American Airlines terminal when the man’s suitcase fell open, revealing a bag of meth.

Nichols reportedly told police she had no knowledge of the drugs and was allowed to board her flight. Her companion, however, was arrested for drug possession. The star’s rep told TMZ that the man was her assistant and it was an e-cigarette, not meth, that was discovered in his luggage.
