More emails from Sony executives have been leaked during the largest security breach in the company’s history. This time the subject of the emails was President Barack Obama.
Studio co-chairman Amy Pascal and producer Scott Rudin exchanged emails discussing what the president’s favorite movies would be. Of course those emails weren’t the most politically correct. The two executives joked that Obama’s favorite movies would only be black films.
According to BuzzFeed, the conversation took place after Pascal asked for Rudin’s advice about a fundraiser she was attending.
“Would he like to finance some movies?” responded Rudin.
“I doubt it. Should I ask him if he liked Django?” said Pascal, with Rudin replying, “12 Years.”
“Or The Butler. Or Think Like a Man?” continued Pascal, who happens to have contributed thousands to the Democratic Party.
“Ride Along. I bet he likes Kevin Hart,” said Rudin.
Yes, the same Kevin Hart who is considered a whore because he expected to get paid for his social media work promoting his film.
After the scathing emails were released, Rudin issued an apology, of course.
“Private emails between friends and colleagues written in haste and without much thought or sensitivity, even when the content of them is meant to be in jest, can result in offense where none was intended,” he told Deadline. “I made a series of remarks that were meant only to be funny, but in the cold light of day, they are in fact thoughtless and insensitive—and not funny at all. To anybody I’ve offended, I’m profoundly and deeply sorry, and I regret and apologize for any injury they might have caused.”
No offense, my bad. They were supposed to be jokes. Yup, typical things people say when they’re caught.
Let’s see which two Sony executives won’t get an invitation to the next Obama party.
