Jay-Z has had a pretty rough week with the sexual assault allegations he’s had to weather. But even though he and the fam seem to be throwing up a united front in celebration of Blue Ivy’s silver screen debut on “Mufasa,” the Beyhivye is losing its mind wondering what Beyoncé is thinking.
Many believe that she’s responding through actions, not words. The latest example of this occurred earlier this week when Forbes named Beyoncé as one of the 100 most powerful women in 2024, using her maiden name “Knowles.” In response to the post, someone wrote on X, “The soft launch name change.”
After getting married to Hov, Bey has often referred to herself as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, to include Jay’s last name. But fans on social media have insinuated that she’s playing with the idea of changing her last name to distance herself from her husband.
One person even commented, “lemme hear y’all say UH OH.”
Despite the shock from fans, the theory that the pop star dropped her husband’s last name has received some pushback, with some claiming that Forbes has always referred to the singer as “Beyoncé Knowles.”
One user wrote on X, “Forbes has always had Beyoncé listed as “Beyoncé Knowles” and then included a photo of a story from a year ago.
But in a September story, the news outlet referred to her as “Beyonce Knowles-Carter.” So it’s unclear if dropping the “Carter” in her name was her decision or Forbes’.
Queen Bey also made news earlier this week after she appeared to show off an “upgraded” engagement ring during the premiere of “Mufasa” on Monday.
Some fans felt that the timing of the singer’s new jewelry was interesting, and concluded that Hov must have gifted his wife the ring to pay for the turmoil he’s put their family through following the recent sexual assault allegations against him and Diddy.
However, that rumor has been proven false, since social media star Julia Chafé pointed out that the “Levi Jeans” star has been wearing this “upgraded” ring since September around Paris Fashion Week, months before the allegations were made against Hov.
