BV Blackspin is reporting that Monique Nelson, 30, was killed after getting caught in the crossfire of a shootout at a California strip mall. She had just strapped her 2-year-old toddler into his car seat when a stray bullet killed her instantly. A gunman was also killed, and five others were wounded. It is believed that Jones, an innocent bystander, had just taken her son to the barbershop to get a haircut. The shootout broke out in the barbershop and spilled out into the parking lot. Jones was found slumped over her son. Jones' son is in temporary custody of child protective services. Jones' brother says he will try to get custody of her son.
