‘Shine Bright, Shine Far, Be A Star!’ Life-Size 2 Is on the Way

My favorite childhood movie is finally getting a sequel—but we’re missing a very important character. Tyra Banks finally announced her costar for the upcoming Life-Size 2, but this time, it isn’t Lindsay Lohan; Grown-ish co-star Francia Raisa will act opposite Banks.

In the first Disney movie, which premiered 18 years ago, Eve (Banks) transformed from a doll into a human when adolescent Casey (Lohan), grieving the loss of her mother, tried to use magic to bring her mom back—but instead brought Eve to life. (Editor’s note: I’m a bit *ahem* older than our writer, but is this not slightly reminiscent of 1987’s Mannequin?)

According to Entertainment Weekly, Life-Size 2 will be much different: Raisa will play Grace Manning, CEO of Marathon Toys, which was founded by her mother. The movie’s synopsis describes Grace as “a hot mess in the middle of her quarter-life crisis” whose “wild-child ways are causing the company’s stock to plummet.”

Of course, aside from Lohan leaving us, Tyra’s youth has since left us as well. (Editor’s note: *ahem*) Eve was obviously my favorite character, but I’m curious to see how Eve will look this time around.

Also, the movie’s theme song “Be a Star,” will be remixed. Banks intends to turn the song into a banger and is dusting off her vocal cords. “Those words [“be a star”] will be in there some way, but it’ll sound totally new,” Banks told EW. “We’re going for club banger as opposed to nursery school rhyme this time.”
