Well, here’s an expected privilege of being one of Hollywood’s most recognized families: Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, the third eldest of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s blended brood, adopted from Ethiopia, has recently been seen glamming it up with her family on numerous red carpets for her mother’s Disney sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. But while we were admiring Zahara’s array of braided and natural hairstyles, here’s an unexpected fun fact: the 14-year-old co-designed her own fine jewelry for the Hollywood premiere.

From People magazine:

Walking the red carpet with Jolie, 44, and five of her six brothers and sisters (Pax, 15, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox), Zahara wore three emerald-cut pieces from her self-titled line: three-tiered earrings, a bracelet and a matching ring.

But wait, there’s more: according to a press release obtained by the magazine, sales of the Zahara collection—a white and pink quartz and pink sapphire collection created in collaboration with the family’s favorite jeweler, Robert Procop—will benefit a great cause.

“All proceeds from the Collection will benefit the Los Angeles-based House of Ruth Shelters, which provided transitional housing for battered women and children,” the press release said.

The effort, which will be sold via Saks Fifth Avenue starting in November, shows a philanthropic (and creative) streak that runs in the family. Jolie previously collaborated with Procop on a high-end collection benefitting children in crisis (and co-designed the scorpion-shaped 50-carat diamond brooch she wore the same night).

Is this the first glimpse of a designing future for young Zahara? Truth is, she likely has all the options in the world. But one is clear on this International Day of the Girl: she’s already learning how to use her privilege.
